AN ACT

Amending Title 34 (Game) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated

Statutes, in hunting and furtaking, further providing for

3

tagging and reporting big game kills.

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania

5

hereby enacts as follows:

6

Section 1.  Section 2323(a)(3) and (g)(2) of Title 34 of the

7

Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes are amended to read:

8

§ 2323.  Tagging and reporting big game kills.

9

(a)  Tags issued with licenses.--

10

(3)  [Within ten days of the kill, the person shall

12

report the killing of big game as required] By the second

13

Monday of February of each year, a license buyer shall report

14

to the commission whether the license buyer harvested a

15

whitetail deer in the immediately preceding deer season. The

16

report shall be submitted in the manner or methods prescribed

17

by commission regulations.

(g)  Penalty.--

(2)  A violation of subsection (a)(3) is a summary

5

offense of the [eighth] seventh degree.

Section 2.  This act shall take effect as follows:

(1)  The amendment of 34 Pa.C.S. § 2323(g)(2) shall take

9

effect July 1, 2012.

10

(2)  This section shall take effect immediately.

11

(3)  The remainder of this act shall take effect in 60

12

days.
