AN ACT
Amending Title 42 (Judiciary and Judicial Procedure) of the
Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for
definitions and for public Internet website; and providing
for requirement for individuals using social networking
websites.
The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Section 9799.12 of Title 42 of the Pennsylvania
Consolidated Statutes is amended by adding a definition to read:
§ 9799.12. Definitions.
The following words and phrases when used in this subchapter
shall have the meanings given to them in this section unless the
context clearly indicates otherwise:

"Social networking website." An Internet website, the
primary purpose of which is social interaction with other users
of the website.

Section 2. Section 9799.28(b) of Title 42 is amended by
adding a paragraph to read:
§ 9799.28. Public Internet website.

(b) Required information.--Notwithstanding Chapter 63
(relating to juvenile matters) and 18 Pa.C.S. Ch. 91 (relating
to criminal history record information), the Internet website
shall contain the following information regarding an individual
convicted of a sexually violent offense, a sexually violent
predator or a sexually violent delinquent child:

(1.1) Designation used by the individual for purposes of
routing or self-identification in Internet communications or
postings.

Section 3. Title 42 is amended by adding a section to read:
§ 9799.42. Requirement for individuals using social networking
websites.
An individual specified in section 9799.13 (relating to
applicability) who creates a profile or who uses the
functionality of a social networking website shall state that
the individual is a sexual offender within the individual's
username.
Section 4. This act shall take effect in 60 days.
