AN ACT

 

1Amending Title 18 (Crimes and Offenses) of the Pennsylvania
2Consolidated Statutes, further providing for the offense of
3tattooing and body piercing.

4The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
5hereby enacts as follows:

6Section 1.  Section 6311 heading of Title 18 of the
7Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes is amended and the section is
8amended by adding a subsection to read:

9§ 6311.  Tattooing [and], body piercing and human branding.

11(b.1)  Human branding.--The following apply:

12(1)  A person commits an offense if he engages in human
13branding of a person under 18 years of age.

14(2)  For purposes of this subsection, the term "human
15branding" shall mean creating a permanent mark on the human
16body by burning the skin with a hot iron or other instrument.

18Section 2.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
