A RESOLUTION

Recognizing the week of February 5, 2012, as "Pennsylvania Young

Farmers' Association Week" in this Commonwealth.

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Young

4

Farmer Educational Association was founded in 1949; and

5

WHEREAS, The Pennsylvania Young Farmers' Association's

6

mission is to educate and promote the environmentally

7

appropriate production, marketing and processing of food, feed

8

and fiber; and

9

WHEREAS, The association provides instruction to

10

agriculturalists and the consumer public in the local community,

11

which will aid the participants in making appropriate decisions;

12

and

13

WHEREAS, The association engages in a close relationship with

agricultural organizations and other business and service

2

industries to enhance learning and cooperation; and

3

WHEREAS, The association is committed to promoting

4

agricultural education in the public school system as well as

5

providing education to all age groups; and

6

WHEREAS, The association continues its leadership efforts by

7

promoting community relations between the consumer public and

8

the agricultural community on common concerns and issues;

9

therefore be it

10

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives recognize the

11

week of February 5, 2012, as "Pennsylvania Young Farmers'

12

Association Week" in this Commonwealth.
