Summary

As enacted, generally prohibits, in Montgomery, Williamson, Rutherford, Hamilton, Knox, Davidson, and Shelby counties, a member of a county governing body from simultaneously serving as a member of the governing body of a municipality within the county for whom the member is a commissioner during the member's term of office, and vice versa, if such prohibition is passed by a two-thirds vote of the entire county or municipal governing body; authorizes a member simultaneously serving on April 22, 2024, to serve out the remainder of the member's terms of office. - Amends TCA Title 5; Title 6 and Title 7.
