Bill Title: As introduced, subject to local approval, removes authority of mayor to direct the town attorney to act in the mayor's stead; creates a six-year term of service for the town court judge; prohibits the dissolution of the town court unless the town can no longer financially support the court; increases threshold for required competitive bidding, from $500 to $750; requires annual audit of financial records of the town be completed and submitted to the board within 180 days, rather than 90 days, of the end of the fiscal year. - Amends Chapter 332 of the Private Acts of 1949, as amended.
