A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to delivery of ballots by mail.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Section 86.006, Election Code, is amended by
  adding Subsections (j) and (k) to read as follows:
         (j)  A ballot voted under this chapter may not be counted if
  delivered by any means other than as provided under Subsection (a).
         (k)  A ballot voted under this chapter may not be deposited
  in an unattended receptacle except for a mailbox or common carrier
  receptacle.
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
