A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
 
AN ACT
  relating to prohibiting the secretary of state from waiving or
  suspending the application of certain election law provisions.
         BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
         SECTION 1.  Subchapter A, Chapter 31, Election Code, is
  amended by adding Section 31.0015 to read as follows:
         Sec. 31.0015.  PROHIBITION OF WAIVER. Except as provided by
  a provision of this code, the secretary of state may not waive or
  suspend the application of a provision of this code or a rule
  adopted under this code. 
         SECTION 2.  This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
