R E S O L U T I O N
         
  WHEREAS, In an outstanding display of skill and
 
  determination, the Hawks volleyball team of Hebron High School in
 
  Carrollton captured the University Interscholastic League 5A state
 
  championship on November 20, 2010; and
         
         WHEREAS, Hebron's victory in the championship came against a
 
  talented team from The Woodlands High School and brought a
 
  triumphant end to a spectacular season in which the Hawks notched 44
 
  wins and just 7 losses; and
         
         WHEREAS, The championship triumph featured a dramatic
 
  comeback in the third set, in which the Hawks scored seven
 
  unanswered points after being down 24-17 and went on to win 27-25;
 
  Tiffany Baker was named the championship game most valuable player,
 
  and she and teammates Rachel Buckley and Brittany Sample were named
 
  to the all-tournament team; and
         
         WHEREAS, Ms. Baker has also been honored as the 2010-2011
 
  Gatorade Texas Volleyball Player of the Year and is one of only 25
 
  young women from around the country named as an Under Armour Girls
 
  High School First Team All-American; and
         
         WHEREAS, The Hawks also received vital contributions from the
 
  other members of the team: Andie Barron, Cara Crenshaw, Heather
 
  Bailey, Morgan Allred, Kate King, Olivia Okoro, Micaela Spann,
 
  Sarah Anderson, Taylor Patterson, Jenna Allen, Kayley Walker, and
 
  Taylor Cembalisty; these talented athletes were led to the
 
  championship by head coach Karin Keeney; and
         
         WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the
 
  culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
 
  commitment to teamwork, and the members of the Hebron Hawks
 
  volleyball team may indeed reflect with pride on a job well done;
 
  now, therefore, be it
         
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
 
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Hebron Hawks volleyball team on
 
  winning the UIL 5A state championship for 2010 and extend to the
 
  players, coaches, and staff sincere best wishes for continued
 
  success; and, be it further
         
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
 
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
 
  House of Representatives.
