R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The inaugural Smoke Sessions BBQ Competition is
  taking place in Royse City on June 16 and 17, 2023; and
         WHEREAS, This much-anticipated event is sanctioned by the
  Outlaw BBQ Association as one of the organization's state
  championship cook-offs, and the contest attracts talented chefs
  from across Texas and other regions; and
         WHEREAS, These highly skilled pitmasters are putting their
  culinary abilities to the test as they vie to produce the tastiest
  entries in several different categories, including brisket, ribs,
  and chicken; open to the public, the cook-off will feature a
  People's Choice Award and offer a number of attendees the
  opportunity to judge at the event; and
         WHEREAS, A fun occasion for all ages, the Smoke Sessions BBQ
  Competition is a fitting celebration of the tasty fare that is such
  an integral part of Texas culture, and it promises to be a source of
  fond memories for countless residents and visitors; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commemorate the 2023 Smoke Sessions BBQ
  Competition and extend to the organizers, participants, and
  attendees sincere best wishes for a successful and enjoyable event.
