R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Ramiro Ramirez Gonzalez is celebrating his 50th year
  in business in the Rio Grande Valley in 2017; and
         WHEREAS, Growing up as one of 12 children on the San Jose
  Ranch near San Benito, Ramiro Gonzalez developed a strong work
  ethic at an early age; after earning his welding certification from
  Del Mar College in 1964, he accepted a position as a welder for the
  Brown and Root construction company in Brownsville; and
         WHEREAS, In 1967, Mr. Gonzalez and his wife, Elizabeth,
  opened Mr. G's Fireworks; Mr. Gonzalez continued to work during the
  day as a welder, but when Brown and Root closed down its Brownsville
  office, he decided to focus on developing his business and started a
  second enterprise, Mr. G's Sno Wiz, in 1980; and
         WHEREAS, Over the next decade, with the help of his wife and
  children, this dynamic entrepreneur opened additional Mr. G's
  Fireworks locations in the region, and in 1990, he launched yet
  another business, the R&R Paving Company; and
         WHEREAS, This year, Mr. G's Fireworks is celebrating its 50th
  anniversary, while Mr. G's Sno Wiz celebrates 37 years of operation
  and R&R Paving celebrates 27 years; Mr. Gonzalez has shared his
  good fortune with others by giving generously to a variety of
  causes; and
         WHEREAS, Supported by his family, his community, and his own
  religious faith, Ramiro Gonzalez has enjoyed a half century of
  success as a local business leader, and it is a pleasure to honor
  him for his many notable accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ramiro Ramirez Gonzalez on the 50th
  anniversary of the founding of his first business and extend to him
  and his family sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Gonzalez as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
