R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Ramiro Ramirez Gonzalez is celebrating his 50th year |
|
in business in the Rio Grande Valley in 2017; and |
|
WHEREAS, Growing up as one of 12 children on the San Jose |
|
Ranch near San Benito, Ramiro Gonzalez developed a strong work |
|
ethic at an early age; after earning his welding certification from |
|
Del Mar College in 1964, he accepted a position as a welder for the |
|
Brown and Root construction company in Brownsville; and |
|
WHEREAS, In 1967, Mr. Gonzalez and his wife, Elizabeth, |
|
opened Mr. G's Fireworks; Mr. Gonzalez continued to work during the |
|
day as a welder, but when Brown and Root closed down its Brownsville |
|
office, he decided to focus on developing his business and started a |
|
second enterprise, Mr. G's Sno Wiz, in 1980; and |
|
WHEREAS, Over the next decade, with the help of his wife and |
|
children, this dynamic entrepreneur opened additional Mr. G's |
|
Fireworks locations in the region, and in 1990, he launched yet |
|
another business, the R&R Paving Company; and |
|
WHEREAS, This year, Mr. G's Fireworks is celebrating its 50th |
|
anniversary, while Mr. G's Sno Wiz celebrates 37 years of operation |
|
and R&R Paving celebrates 27 years; Mr. Gonzalez has shared his |
|
good fortune with others by giving generously to a variety of |
|
causes; and |
|
WHEREAS, Supported by his family, his community, and his own |
|
religious faith, Ramiro Gonzalez has enjoyed a half century of |
|
success as a local business leader, and it is a pleasure to honor |
|
him for his many notable accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ramiro Ramirez Gonzalez on the 50th |
|
anniversary of the founding of his first business and extend to him |
|
and his family sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Gonzalez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
