H.R. No. 2280

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The area along the Interstate 35 corridor between
Austin and San Antonio has been identified as one of the
fastest-growing regions in the United States; and
WHEREAS, Numerous entities within the area have worked
diligently to promote economic development and to create job
opportunities, including the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of
Commerce, the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the Austin Chamber
of Commerce, the Lockhart Chamber of Commerce, the Seguin Area
Chamber of Commerce, Opportunity Austin, greater:SATX, and the
Greater San Marcos Partnership; and
WHEREAS, These entities, along with the Texas Department of
Transportation, local governments, and the SH 130 Concession
Company, have recognized the need for infrastructure and
operational advancements to accommodate growth, enhance the safety
and mobility of the traveling public, and improve the quality of
life for residents in the region; and
WHEREAS, Interstate 35 has state, national, and
international significance as a key transportation corridor for
passengers and goods, and all those who work to enhance the economic
vitality of the surrounding area are indeed deserving of special
recognition for their contributions; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
Legislature hereby commend the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of
Commerce, the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce, the Austin Chamber
of Commerce, the Lockhart Chamber of Commerce, the Seguin Area
Chamber of Commerce, Opportunity Austin, greater:SATX, the Greater
San Marcos Partnership, the Texas Department of Transportation, the
SH 130 Concession Company, and local governments throughout the
region for their efforts and extend to all those affiliated with the
entities sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the entities as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
