WHEREAS, William H. Lindley is retiring as Highland Park town | ||
administrator on May 26, 2023, drawing to a close a distinguished | ||
career in municipal government that has spanned more than four | ||
decades; and | ||
WHEREAS, Over the course of his 15 years as town | ||
administrator, Bill Lindley has played an instrumental role in | ||
assisting the town council in implementing a 10-year operating and | ||
capital budget; he was integral to the renovation of the town's | ||
parks and town hall, as well as improvements to the roads and | ||
utility systems; during his tenure, he has ably guided Highland | ||
Park through many difficult challenges, including the West Nile | ||
virus outbreak, Winter Storm Uri, and the COVID-19 pandemic; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Lindley holds a bachelor's degree and has | ||
completed coursework toward a master's degree in public | ||
administration, and he received continuing education certification | ||
in public management and mediation; prior to joining the Highland | ||
Park staff, he held several senior leadership positions with local | ||
governments in Gladewater, Rusk, Cedar Hill, DeSoto, and | ||
Colleyville, which was the recipient of the 2006 Municipal | ||
Excellence Award from the Texas Municipal League while he was city | ||
manager; he has been honored with the Jay Sansom Mentor Award from | ||
the North Texas City Management Association and the Mentoring Award | ||
in Memory of Gary Gwyn from the Texas City Management Association; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, Through his skill and dedication, Bill Lindley has | ||
greatly benefited the Highland Park community, and he may reflect | ||
with pride on his many contributions as he begins the next exciting | ||
chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate William H. Lindley on his | ||
retirement as Highland Park town administrator and extend to him | ||
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. Lindley as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. |
