| WHEREAS, Ja'Naria Jackson of Terrell High School achieved | ||
| great distinction by winning two gold medals at the 2022 University | ||
| Interscholastic League Track & Field State Meet; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in | ||
| Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12, Ms. Jackson | ||
| turned in an exceptional performance, claiming the state title in | ||
| the 4A 100 and 200-meter races; in the 100 meters, she clocked in at | ||
| 11.74 seconds, and in the 200 meters, she crossed the line in 23.69 | ||
| seconds; and | ||
| WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for | ||
| high school track and field athletes, this talented young Texan has | ||
| ably represented her school and community, and she will cherish her | ||
| memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Ja'Naria Jackson on winning two | ||
| gold medals at the 2022 UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend to | ||
| her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Jackson as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
