WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and purpose drew to a close | ||
with the passing of Nick Bradshaw of Wimberley on February 4, 2023; | ||
and | ||
WHEREAS, Born in McAllen in 1948, Mr. Bradshaw attended Texas | ||
A&M University before transferring to The University of Texas at | ||
Austin, where he graduated with a degree in aerospace engineering | ||
in 1971; after a brief time operating a house-painting business | ||
with friends, he began his engineering career with the Lockheed | ||
Missiles and Space Company in Sunnyvale, California; less than a | ||
year later, he started working for a small marine engineering | ||
consulting company in San Francisco that quickly became the premier | ||
designer of offshore structures for oil production, and he went on | ||
to enjoy a long and rewarding tenure with the company that took him | ||
throughout the United States and the world, including London, where | ||
he lived for 11 years; and | ||
WHEREAS, In 2006, Mr. Bradshaw semi-retired and returned to | ||
Texas; making his home in Wimberley, he became involved with a | ||
number of organizations, such as the Wimberley Democrats and the | ||
Hays County Master Gardeners, and he was also a board member and | ||
past president of the Wimberley Players; in his leisure time, he | ||
enjoyed traveling, gardening, and watching Texas Longhorn football | ||
games; and | ||
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Bradshaw benefited from | ||
the love and support of his wife, Debbie, with whom he shared 50 | ||
years, and he was the proud father of three children, Ben, Nate, and | ||
Lauren; and | ||
WHEREAS, Although Nick Bradshaw is deeply missed, memories of | ||
his passion for life, his wonderful sense of humor, and his devotion | ||
to his family remain to comfort and inspire those he leaves behind; | ||
now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Nick Bradshaw and | ||
extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it | ||
further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Nick | ||
Bradshaw. | ||
