R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Brian McCoy concluded his tenure as chief executive
  officer of McCoy's Building Supply on May 31, 2022, following more
  than two decades at the helm of the organization; and
         WHEREAS, Based in San Marcos, McCoy's Building Supply was
  founded by Mr. McCoy's grandfather, Frank McCoy, in 1927; Brian
  McCoy has been involved with the company for 50 years, and he has
  held a variety of positions, including yard hand, truck driver,
  floor salesperson, assistant store manager, store manager,
  merchandise manager, vice president, and copresident; he became
  president and CEO in 2001, and he also serves as chair of the board
  of directors; with his retirement, Meagan McCoy Jones, Mr. McCoy's
  daughter, takes over as president and CEO of the family-owned
  business, which today encompasses 90 locations across five states;
  and
         WHEREAS, In addition to his work with McCoy's Building
  Supply, Mr. McCoy is a partner in McCoy Remme Ranches, and he serves
  as board president of the Emmett and Miriam McCoy College of
  Business Administration Development Foundation at Texas State
  University; he is a former board president of the Lumbermen's
  Association of Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Among his many honors, Mr. McCoy received the 2003
  Ethics in Business Award from the Samaritan Center in Austin, and he
  was named the 2004 Business Person of the Year by the San Marcos
  Area Chamber of Commerce; he holds a bachelor's degree in finance
  from Texas Tech University, and in 2006, he was recognized as a
  Distinguished Alumnus of the Rawls College of Business; in 2012, he
  received a Distinguished Alumni Award from the Texas Tech Alumni
  Association; and
         WHEREAS, Brian McCoy's visionary leadership and unwavering
  commitment to excellence have played a vital role in the success of
  McCoy's Building Supply, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his
  contributions to this respected Texas company; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Brian McCoy on his retirement as
  CEO of McCoy's Building Supply and extend to him sincere best wishes
  for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. McCoy as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
