WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Humane Legislation Network are | ||
gathering at the State Capitol on March 23, 2023; and | ||
WHEREAS, Founded by Texans for Texas Animals in 1975, the | ||
Texas Humane Legislation Network strives to protect animals through | ||
advocacy and education initiatives; the organization is composed of | ||
more than 27,000 members and donors, including animal shelter and | ||
rescue workers and law enforcement personnel, and is led by a board | ||
of directors encompassing a variety of animal law experts; and | ||
WHEREAS, A nonpartisan entity, THLN collaborates with | ||
elected officials in seeking enforceable anti-cruelty measures; | ||
its members also work closely with stakeholders such as | ||
veterinarians, shelter and sanctuary directors, animal control | ||
officers, and prosecutors and judges at the local, state, and | ||
federal levels; and | ||
WHEREAS, For nearly half a century, THLN has worked | ||
tirelessly to improve the welfare of animals throughout the Lone | ||
Star State, and all those associated with the organization are | ||
indeed deserving of commendation for their myriad contributions; | ||
now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby recognize March 23, 2023, as Texas Humane | ||
Legislation Network Day at the State Capitol and extend a warm | ||
welcome to the visiting delegation; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for THLN as an expression of high regard by the Texas House | ||
of Representatives. | ||
