R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Charity Perry and Cutter Babcock of Groom High
  School were awarded Honorable Mention All-Star Cast recognition at
  the University Interscholastic League 2016-2017 One-Act Play State
  Meet; and
         WHEREAS, Competing in Class 1A, the students impressed judges
  with their outstanding performances in Groom High's production of
  Dark Road by Laura Lundgren Smith; in the World War II-era play,
  Ms. Perry portrayed Greta, a young woman in Nazi-occupied Germany,
  and Mr. Babcock played the role of a reporter named Daimler, who
  serves as the story's narrator; and
         WHEREAS, Through their hard work and commitment to
  excellence, these talented young Texans have brought great credit
  to their school and their community, and they may indeed reflect
  with pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Charity Perry
  and Cutter Babcock on earning Honorable Mention All-Star Cast
  recognition at the 2016-2017 UIL One-Act Play State Meet and extend
  to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Perry and Mr. Babcock as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
