A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
relating to vehicles eligible for veteran toll discount programs.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
SECTION 1. Section 372.053(a), Transportation Code, is
amended to read as follows:
(a) A toll project entity may establish a discount program
for electronic toll collection customers. The program must include
free or discounted use of the entity's toll project by an electronic
toll collection customer whose account relates to a vehicle
registered under:
(1) Section 504.202 without the payment of any fee
paid for or at the time of registration except the fee for the
license plates; or
(2) Section 504.315(f) or (g) without the payment of
any fee paid for or at the time of registration.
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
Act takes effect September 1, 2019.
