| relating to the timely processing of certain requests relating to a | ||
| person released on parole or mandatory supervision. | ||
| BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | ||
| SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 508, Government Code, is | ||
| amended by adding Section 508.1145 to read as follows: | ||
| Sec. 508.1145. PROCESSING OF INFORMATION REQUESTS RELATING | ||
| TO RELEASEES. | ||
| To the extent practicable, a parole officer shall: | ||
| 1. Complete the processing of a request relating to a | ||
| releasee's employment, including all necessary paperwork, not | ||
| later than the thirtieth calendar day after the date the officer | ||
| receives the request. | ||
| 2. Complete the processing of a request relating to the | ||
| completion of a releasee's term of parole or mandatory supervision, | ||
| including all necessary paperwork, not later than the thirtieth | ||
| calendar day after the date the officer receives the request. | ||
| SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. | ||
