SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 72
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Christopher Earl Ullrich Linzza
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of El Campo in mourning the loss of Christopher Earl
  Ullrich "Hoss" Linzza, who died May 30, 2013, at the age of 48;
  and
 
         WHEREAS, Christopher Linzza was born on February 10, 1965;
  he graduated from J. Frank Dobie High School in 1983 and went on
  to earn a degree from the University of Houston; an outstanding
  field athlete, he was passionate about history and his Scottish
  heritage and, as a young man, he participated in Scottish
  Highland Games across the country with his father; he was the
  1985 recipient of the Dewar's White Label Award for Outstanding
  Achievement in Scottish Athletics; and
 
         WHEREAS, He married Kristina Leigh Farley on December 18,
  1993, and the couple was blessed with three children, Collin
  Ramsey, Harrison Wayne, and Shelby Faye Linzza; an avid
  genealogist, Mr. Linzza loved Texas history and enjoyed sharing
  his knowledge of history with his children; and
 
         WHEREAS, Hoss, as he came to be known, had attained the
  rank of Eagle Scout as a member of Troop 1032, and while attending
  college, he worked at several scout camps; in 1996, he entered
  into a professional career with the Boy Scouts of America; he
  held positions in San Antonio, El Campo, and Knoxville,
  Tennessee, and he was deeply committed throughout his life to the
  Scout Oath and Law; and
 
         WHEREAS, He was active in a variety of organizations,
  including the Knights of Columbus, the Sons of the American
  Revolution, the Sons of the Confederate Veterans, and the
  Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 1749, which named
  him Elk of the Year; he was a faithful member of Saint Philip the
  Apostle Catholic Church; and
 
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he
  gave unselfishly to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued
  counsel will not be forgotten by those who knew him; and
 
         WHEREAS, He was a devoted husband and father, and he leaves
  behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and
  many friends; now, therefore, be it
 
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas,
  83rd Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby extend sincere
  condolences to the bereaved family of Christopher Earl Ullrich
  Linzza; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the
  Texas Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do
  so in memory of Christopher "Hoss" Linzza.
