| Jose Padron Munivez | ||
| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the | ||
| citizens of Brownsville in mourning the loss of Jose Padron | ||
| Munivez, who died July 16, 2013, at the age of 92; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Jose Munivez was born December 25, 1920; a | ||
| lifelong resident of Brownsville, he served the nation with | ||
| distinction as a member of the United States Army during World | ||
| War II; and | ||
| WHEREAS, He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with the | ||
| Public Utilities Board, and he was active in several community | ||
| organizations, notably the Disabled American Veterans, of which | ||
| he was a life member; he belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe | ||
| Catholic Church; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he | ||
| gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued | ||
| counsel will not be forgotten; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Munivez was beloved by many, and he leaves | ||
| behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and | ||
| friends; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere | ||
| condolences to the bereaved family of Jose Padron Munivez; and, | ||
| be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas | ||
| Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in | ||
| memory of Jose Padron Munivez. | ||
