SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 74
 
 
  In Memory
  of
  Jose Padron Munivez
 
         WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas joins the
  citizens of Brownsville in mourning the loss of Jose Padron
  Munivez, who died July 16, 2013, at the age of 92; and
         WHEREAS, Jose Munivez was born December 25, 1920; a
  lifelong resident of Brownsville, he served the nation with
  distinction as a member of the United States Army during World
  War II; and
         WHEREAS, He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career with the
  Public Utilities Board, and he was active in several community
  organizations, notably the Disabled American Veterans, of which
  he was a life member; he belonged to Our Lady of Guadalupe
  Catholic Church; and
         WHEREAS, A man of courage, strength, and compassion, he
  gave generously to others, and his wisdom, warmth, and valued
  counsel will not be forgotten; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Munivez was beloved by many, and he leaves
  behind memories that will be treasured forever by his family and
  friends; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd
  Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby extend sincere
  condolences to the bereaved family of Jose Padron Munivez; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for
  his family as an expression of deepest sympathy from the Texas
  Senate, and that when the Senate adjourns this day, it do so in
  memory of Jose Padron Munivez.
