| WHEREAS, Members of the Association of Texas Professional | ||
| Educators are visiting Austin on February 25, 2019, to celebrate | ||
| Association of Texas Professional Educators Day at the State | ||
| Capitol; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Association of Texas Professional Educators | ||
| was founded to serve the needs of Texas teachers, | ||
| paraprofessionals, administrators, and public education | ||
| employees; it is the largest independent educators' association | ||
| in the United States and now has 100,000 members; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The association works diligently to protect the | ||
| rights of educators across the state and strives to ensure that | ||
| Texas schools are among the best in the nation; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Guided by tenets established by its board of | ||
| directors, the association encourages its members to participate | ||
| in the political process and to serve as leaders in their | ||
| communities; and | ||
| WHEREAS, By engaging educators in the legislative process, | ||
| the Association of Texas Professional Educators is working to | ||
| improve our schools, and its efforts are making a positive | ||
| difference in the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 86th | ||
| Legislature, hereby honor the members of the Association of Texas | ||
| Professional Educators on the occasion of their visit to the | ||
| State Capitol and extend to them sincere best wishes for | ||
| continued success in their important work; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for the | ||
| organization as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. | ||
