| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Emmett Gloyna, who is retiring July 31, 2013, from the | ||
| Jackson County Navigation District; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Gloyna joined the district after 40 years of | ||
| service as an engineer and administrator in the field of water | ||
| resource management; he first worked with the United States | ||
| Department of the Interior's Bureau of Reclamation, where he | ||
| coordinated the Water Resource Development Program and retired | ||
| after 28 years; he then served for 12 years as general manager of | ||
| the Lavaca-Navidad River Authority; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas Tech University, Mr. Gloyna | ||
| has handled his responsibilities with the Jackson County | ||
| Navigation District with exceptional skill and dedication; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Throughout his long and distinguished career, he | ||
| has been noted for his superior engineering skills and his | ||
| outstanding talent for managing the planning, design, and | ||
| construction of complex projects; he is also noted for his | ||
| ability to work with local, state, and federal agencies to | ||
| achieve his goals; and | ||
| WHEREAS, An exemplary administrator, he is respected and | ||
| admired by his colleagues, and his presence at the Jackson County | ||
| Navigation District will be greatly missed; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Emmett Gloyna on | ||
| his many achievements and his contributions to the community, | ||
| congratulate him on his retirement from the Jackson County | ||
| Navigation District, and extend to him best wishes for continued | ||
| success in all his endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| him as an expression of esteem from the Texas Senate. | ||
