| WHEREAS, The Senate of the State of Texas is pleased to | ||
| recognize Elizabeth Schleder for her outstanding work on behalf | ||
| of Honor Flight Austin; and | ||
| WHEREAS, | ||
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Schleder began fund-raising efforts on | ||
| behalf of Honor Flight Austin almost immediately following her | ||
| participation in the organization's inaugural trip in 2012; in a | ||
| few short months, she was able to personally raise more than | ||
| $40,000 for the program, enough to completely fund a flight; and | ||
| WHEREAS, As part of her mission to raise funds, Mrs. Schleder | ||
| has worked tirelessly with local businesses and groups, | ||
| including the Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs and various Sun City | ||
| Neighborhood Representative Organizations; she has gone on to | ||
| raise a total of more than $100,000, and she is seeking to raise | ||
| enough funds to sponsor at least eight flights this year; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She is truly deserving of recognition for her | ||
| dedication and commitment to serving our nation's veterans; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 83rd | ||
| Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby commend Elizabeth | ||
| Schleder on her exceptional efforts on behalf of Honor Flight | ||
| Austin and extend to her best wishes for continued success in all | ||
| her endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be prepared for | ||
| her as an expression of high regard from the Texas Senate. | ||
