A BILL to amend and reenact §22.1-16.5 of the Code of Virginia, relating to certain school board employees; training on the prevention of trafficking of children.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That §22.1-16.5 of the Code of Virginia is amended and reenacted as follows:

§22.1-16.5. Training materials on human trafficking.

The Board, in collaboration with the Department of Social Services, shall provide awareness and training materials for local school division staff on human trafficking, including strategies for the prevention of trafficking of children. Each school board shall ensure that each guidance counselor and school nurse that it employs receives training on the prevention of trafficking of children using such awareness and training materials.
