WHEREAS, John Patrick Haymore, an outstanding firefighter with the Danville Fire Department, received the 2010 American Legion Dan River Post 1097 Firefighter of the Year award; and WHEREAS, a seven-year veteran of the department, Patrick Haymore is assigned to the Station 5 C-Shift, where he is a valued member of the Technical Rescue Team, known for his proficiency in specialized skills; and WHEREAS, a highly trained firefighter, Patrick Haymore actively pursues training opportunities and willingly and competently shares his specialized knowledge with others in the department; and WHEREAS, Patrick Haymore is frequently called upon to assist in training newly hired firefighters and helping them obtain necessary skills and certifications; and WHEREAS, Patrick Haymore is one of the few individuals in the Danville Fire Department who is certified in child car seat installation and frequently works during his mealtimes or after traditional work hours to help individuals with their car seat installation; and WHEREAS, known for his courtesy and professionalism, Patrick Haymore is a true team player who frequently gives significant time over and above his normal duties to help his fellow Danville Fire Department members and the public; and WHEREAS, Patrick Haymore is a valuable asset to the Danville Fire Department and the community of Danville and an outstanding example of the dedication and integrity shown by public safety personnel across the Commonwealth; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, the Senate concurring, That the General Assembly commend John Patrick Haymore for his receipt of the 2010 American Legion Dan River Post 1097 Firefighter of the Year award; and, be it RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to John Patrick Haymore as an expression of the General Assembly's respect for his commitment to public safety in the City of Danville. |
