Commending Jyothi Raghavan.

WHEREAS, Jyothi Raghavan, an accomplished patient advocate and resident of Fairfax County, has worked tirelessly to improve health outcomes for brain cancer patients and to advance developments in all aspects of brain cancer research; and

WHEREAS, Jyothi Raghavan was inspired to become a brain cancer patient advocate after witnessing the experiences of her son, who was diagnosed with medulloblastoma at the age of 12, and her brother, who died of glioblastoma in 2019; and

WHEREAS, Jyothi Raghavan's advocacy is focused in particular on supporting the pediatric, young adult, and caregiver communities and in developing ways to improve the quality of life for those groups; and

WHEREAS, since 2016, Jyothi Raghavan has been a wish granter for Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic, where she has also served on the board since 2019 and as chair for the organization's annual gala in 2022; and

WHEREAS, Jyothi Raghavan has given generously of her time to volunteer and fundraise for Special Love, an organization based in the Commonwealth that provides financial supports and other services to pediatric cancer families in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area; and

WHEREAS, Jyothi Raghavan developed the skills and experience to be an effective advocate over her more than two decades in the information technology industry, during which time she held various leadership positions; and

WHEREAS, by serving as a voice for the communities of individuals and families dealing with brain cancer and pediatric cancer, Jyothi Raghavan has earned the esteem and admiration of all Virginians; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Jyothi Raghavan hereby be commended for her legacy of service as a patient advocate; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to Jyothi Raghavan as an expression of the House of Delegates' high regard for her efforts in advancing progress in the care and treatment of brain cancers and pediatric cancers.
