HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 47 Celebrating the life of Terence Jerome Boulden.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, January 15, 2016

WHEREAS, Terence Jerome Boulden of Woodbridge, a well-regarded activist and commentator who was deeply involved in local and statewide politics, and a dear friend to many people, died on October 23, 2015; and

WHEREAS, Terence Boulden was a native of Woodbridge who devoted much of his life to Republican Party activities in Northern Virginia and the Commonwealth; he was chair of the Prince William County Young Republicans and was the 11th District representative to the Young Republican Federation of Virginia; and

WHEREAS, Terence Boulden was a highly regarded member of the Republican political organization in the Commonwealth whose advice was frequently sought by candidates for local and statewide office; and

WHEREAS, in addition to serving as the Woodbridge District Magisterial District chair for the Prince William County Republican Committee, Terence Boulden was co-founder and president of Virginia Black Conservatives; and

WHEREAS, Terence Boulden willingly shared his enthusiasm and ideals with others who were engaged in the political process in the Commonwealth; he had a wide following through his online conversations and postings to the Virginia Virtucon blog, where he had been editor in chief; and

WHEREAS, Terence Boulden exerted great influence on Republican Party politics in Northern Virginia; he was the former chair of the Fairfax County Republican Committee's African American Outreach Committee and freely shared his positive attitude toward life and politics with others; and

WHEREAS, a loyal friend to many people, whether he knew them personally or through online writings and comments, Terence Boulden was held in great esteem; he had the courage of his convictions and touched many lives as a friend and principled idealist for conservative values; and

WHEREAS, Terence Boulden will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by his mother, Esther; brother, Brian; and many other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Delegates hereby note with great sadness the loss of Terence Jerome Boulden of Woodbridge, a passionate and articulate political activist and a cheerful and loyal friend to many people; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the House of Delegates prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the family of Terence Jerome Boulden as an expression of the House of Delegates' respect for his memory.
