SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION NO. 122
Commending the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.

WHEREAS, for 100 years, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce has been a leading advocate for businesses in the Commonwealth, supporting economic prosperity and enhancing the quality of life for all Virginians; and

WHEREAS, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce has amassed impressive accomplishments by holding fast to its founding principle of promoting the "betterment of the state and its people through the free enterprise system"; and

WHEREAS, since its establishment on January 4, 1924, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce has played a pivotal role in fostering a dynamic business environment, promoting innovation, and advocating for policies that enhance the competitiveness of Virginia businesses; and

WHEREAS, through its strategic document, Blueprint Virginia, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce has advocated for investments in education, transportation, economic development, energy, health care, support for military and veterans, sustainability, and housing; and

WHEREAS, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce has been a unifying force, bringing together businesses of all sizes and industries across the Commonwealth to collaborate, share best practices, and address the challenges facing the business community; and

WHEREAS, over the past century, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce has demonstrated unwavering dedication to advancing the interests of its members, contributing to job creation, and driving economic growth throughout the Commonwealth; and

WHEREAS, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce has been at the forefront of shaping public policy, working with government officials, community leaders, and stakeholders to create a business-friendly environment that encourages investment, entrepreneurship, and sustainable development; and

WHEREAS, the Virginia Chamber of Commerce has been a valuable resource for businesses, providing networking opportunities, educational programs, and resources to help them navigate the ever-changing business landscape; and

WHEREAS, as the Virginia Chamber of Commerce celebrates its 100th anniversary, it is an opportune time to reflect on its rich history, acknowledge its accomplishments, and express gratitude for the enduring impact it has had on the economic vitality of the Commonwealth and its work to ensure that Virginia is the best state for business in the nation; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the Senate, the House of Delegates concurring, That the General Assembly hereby commend the Virginia Chamber of Commerce on the occasion of its 100th anniversary; and, be it

RESOLVED FURTHER, That the Clerk of the Senate prepare a copy of this resolution for presentation to the Virginia Chamber of Commerce as an expression of the General Assembly's admiration for its 100 years of vital service to the Commonwealth.
