A BILL to amend the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, by adding thereto a new section, designated §21-5A-12, relating to exempting construction performed on behalf of educational authorities from prevailing wage requirements.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of West Virginia:
That the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, be amended by adding thereto a new section, designated §21-5A-12, to read as follows:
ARTICLE 5A. WAGES FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS.
§21-5A-12. Exemption.
The provisions of this article do not apply to construction performed on behalf of any educational authority, including, but not limited to, a county board of education, the Higher Education Policy Commission and the School Building Authority.
NOTE: The purpose of this bill is to exempt construction performed on behalf of any educational authority from the prevailing wage laws.
