A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
enacting and ordering the submission to the people of a measure relating to the state lottery.

Be it resolved by the Senate of the State of Arizona, the House of Representatives concurring:
1. Under the power of the referendum, as vested in the Legislature, the following measure, relating to the state lottery, is enacted to become valid as a law if approved by the voters and on proclamation of the Governor:
An act
amending title 41, chapter 27, article 1, Arizona revised statutes, by adding section 41‑2959; Repealing section 41‑3012.16, Arizona Revised Statutes; relating to the state lottery.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Arizona:
Section 1. Title 41, chapter 27, article 1, Arizona Revised Statutes, is amended by adding section 41-2959, to read:
41-2959. Arizona state lottery commission; exemption; modified audit
A. The Arizona state lottery commission is exempt from the termination provisions of this chapter.
B. Beginning July 1, 2011, at least every ten years the joint legislative audit committee shall conduct a review of the Arizona state lottery commission using the factors that are deemed necessary and that are listed in section 41‑2954, subsection D.
Sec. 2. Repeal
Section 41-3012.16, Arizona Revised Statutes, is repealed.
Sec. 3. Purpose
Pursuant to section 41‑2955, subsection B, Arizona Revised Statutes, the Arizona state lottery commission is continued to oversee a state lottery to produce the maximum amount of net revenue for the state consonant with the dignity of the state.
2. The Secretary of State shall submit this proposition to the voters at the next general election as provided by article IV, part 1, section 1, Constitution of Arizona.
