An act to amend Section 12553 of the Government Code, relating to state government.


LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


AB 1959, as introduced, Grayson. District attorneys.
If a district attorney is disqualified to conduct a criminal prosecution within a county, existing law authorizes the Attorney General to employ special counsel to conduct that prosecution. Existing law provides that the resulting attorney’s fee is a legal charge against the state.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to this provision.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 12553 of the Government Code is amended to read:

12553.
 If a district attorney is disqualified to conduct any a criminal prosecution within the county, the Attorney General may employ special counsel to conduct the prosecution. The attorney’s fee in such case is a legal charge against the State. state.
