An act to amend Section 2804 of the Labor Code, relating to private employment.

AB 2317, as introduced, Weber. Employer obligations: waiver.
Existing law regulates the terms and conditions of employment. Existing law voids a contract made by an employee to waive specified obligations that the law imposes on employers.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to these provisions.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:


SECTION 1.

 Section 2804 of the Labor Code is amended to read:

2804.
 Any contract or agreement, express or implied, made by any employee to waive the benefits of this article or any part thereof, is null and void, and this article shall not deprive any an employee or his the employee’s personal representative of any right or remedy to which he the employee is entitled under the laws of this State.
