AN ACT CONCERNING THE STATE'S RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSSES OR DAMAGES INCURRED ON STATE PROPERTY FOR WHICH THE STATE IS AT FAULT.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That chapter 700 of the general statutes be amended to provide that when an insured motorist makes a claim for loss or damage occurring on state property and the state is at fault for such loss or damage, the state shall also be responsible for paying the cost of any premium increase incurred by the insured motorist as a result of making the claim.

Statement of Purpose:

To require the state bear responsibility for all costs incurred by an insured motorist who suffers loss or damage, including the cost of increased insurance premiums, when the loss or damage occurred on state property and the state is at fault for the loss or damage.
