AN ACT STUDYING THE SALE OF LAND ACQUIRED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION FOR THE PURPOSES OF IMPROVEMENTS TO ROUTE 7 AND THE USE OF THE PROCEEDS OF SUCH SALE TO UPGRADE THE DANBURY BRANCH OF THE NEW HAVEN COMMUTER RAILROAD LINE.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
The Commissioner of Transportation shall, within available appropriations, conduct a study of the feasibility of selling the land acquired by the Department of Transportation for the purpose of improvements to Route 7 and using the proceeds from such sale for upgrading the Danbury branch of the New Haven commuter railroad line and implementing the recommendations of Phase I and Phase II of the department's Danbury Branch Electrification Feasibility Study. Not later than February 1, 2014, the commissioner shall submit a report of the commissioner's findings and recommendations, in accordance with the provisions of section 11-4a of the general statutes, to the joint standing committee of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to transportation.
Statement of Purpose:
To study the sale of land acquired for the expansion of Route 7 and the use of the proceeds of such sale for upgrades to the Danbury branch of the New Haven line.
