AN ACT PROHIBITING THE FOREIGN USE OF ELECTRONIC BENEFIT CARDS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That title 17b of the general statutes be amended to prohibit the use of electronic benefit transfer cards for public assistance outside the United States.
Statement of Purpose:
To ensure that taxpayer dollars used in public assistance programs help the people who need it most and to discourage fraud.
