AN ACT CONCERNING LEGISLATIVE APPROVAL OF CERTAIN STATE CONTRACTS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to require that state agencies in the executive branch submit all state contracts with private entities that are valued at more than one million dollars to the General Assembly for approval or rejection in accordance with the current procedures used for state employee collective bargaining contracts and arbitration awards under section 5-278 of the general statutes.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow for legislative rejection of certain state contracts if either house of the General Assembly determines there are insufficient funds for full implementation of the contract.
