AN ACT CONCERNING DEATH WITH DIGNITY.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the general statutes be amended to allow a competent, terminally ill patient to self-administer medication to end his or her life after the receipt of counseling, a physician's evaluation, the passage of a waiting period and the completion of a formal, witnessed request for such medication.

Statement of Purpose:

To allow a competent, terminally ill patient to self-administer medication that will end his or her life.
