AN ACT ESTABLISHING A SURCHARGE ON ANIMAL ADOPTION FEES TO FUND THE SECOND CHANCE LARGE ANIMAL RESCUE PROGRAM.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:
That the general statutes be amended to establish a surcharge of five per cent to any animal adoption fee in this state and require one-half of such generated funds to go to the state and one-half of such generated funds to be deposited with the Department of Agriculture for use by the Second Chance Large Animal Rescue Program.
Statement of Purpose:
To help fund the Second Chance Large Animal Rescue Program of the Department of Agriculture.
