AN ACT AUTHORIZING BONDS OF THE STATE FOR TRAIN SHUTTLES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Assembly convened:

That the State Bond Commission be empowered to authorize the issuance of bonds of the state in accordance with section 3-20 of the general statutes, in principal amounts not exceeding in the aggregate five million dollars, the proceeds of which shall be used by the Department of Transportation for the purpose of developing a comprehensive system of shuttles from the MetroNorth train stations in Norwalk, Stamford and Greenwich to major places of business in such towns. The shuttles shall run in tandem with the trains in the morning and evening to ensure that persons taking the train can get to work.

Statement of Purpose:

To encourage the use of mass transit by making the MetroNorth trains more user-friendly.
