RESOLUTION PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO THE STATE CONSTITUTION TO ALLOW FOR DIRECT INITIATIVE AND REFERENDUM.

Resolved by this Assembly:

That article third and article eleventh of the Constitution of the state be amended to grant to the people of the state the power of direct initiative and referendum.

Statement of Purpose:

To provide for direct public participation in the legislative process by granting the citizens of Connecticut the right to propose laws through direct initiative and the power to approve or reject a statute through referendum.
