Summary

As introduced, this bill requires the Office of the State Superintendent of Education, in conjunction with the State Board of Education, to designate the school day before Emancipation day as "District of Columbia Emancipation Learning Day". OSSE and the Board must develop and implement age-appropriate curricula to teach all District public and charter school students about the history of emancipation in the District and Emancipation Day.
