Summary
Provides requirements for performance of supervising physicians; provides duties, scope, & location of practice for certified surgical first assistants; provides contracting & employment guidelines for employing certified surgical first assistants; provides licensure criteria; provides continuing education requirements; authorizes Board of Medicine to impose penalties; provides scope of certified surgical first assistant's license; provides for reciprocity of licenses; prohibits unlicensed person holding himself or herself out as licensed; provides for denial, suspension, or revocation of licensure; provides that supervising physicians may be liable for certain acts or omissions of certified surgical first assistants; provides for payments to physician assistant under contracts providing for payment for surgical first assisting benefits or services; includes certified surgical first assistants within certain payment provisions.
