Summary

Authorizes & requires state attorney to refer certain persons for civil commitment; requires agency with jurisdiction over person convicted of sexually violent offense to give written notice to multidisciplinary team as soon as practicable after receipt of such person in county or municipal jail; authorizes multidisciplinary team to consult with specified others as part of assessment & evaluation process; requires second clinical evaluation; revises deadlines for assessment & recommendation; revises duties of DCF & multidisciplinary team concerning evaluation & recommendation; authorizes state attorney to petition alleging that person released from local detention facility was not referred as required for certain reasons; revises provisions authorizing petitioner & respondent to present evidence at civil commitment hearing; requires DCF to provide notice of placement or release of sexually violent predator or person who is in custody to certain persons & agencies; requires DOC to collect & report recidivism information.
