RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Mrs. Kelly Bramblett for outstanding contributions to education
in the State of Georgia; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Kelly Bramblett is a highly respected special education teacher at
Allatoona High School in Cobb County, Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
her contributions and achievements have been recognized by her selection as Cobb
County's Teacher of the Year; and
WHEREAS,
nothing is more vital to the future of our state than the education of our young
people, and Mrs. Bramblett has, during her teaching career, exemplified the
selfless dedication and professionalism which are characteristic of our finest
educators; and
WHEREAS,
the daughter of Doug and Mary Lee Jones, Mrs. Bramblett has been an educator for
14 years, is a native of Cobb County, and graduated from Campbell High School;
and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Bramblett has been recognized with numerous honors and accolades throughout
her career, including the 2009 Tommy Nobis Professional Advocate of the Year
Award and the 2009 Governor's Award; and
WHEREAS,
while an educator at Kennesaw Mountain High School, Mrs. Bramblett co-developed
the Serving Up Success program, which allows special needs students to operate
the high school's coffee shop and learn skills required to obtain gainful
employment after graduation; and
WHEREAS,
Mrs. Bramblett has continued her Serving Up Success program at Allatoona High
School, where she also co-sponsors the Interact Club, a community service club
that raises money for local charities and stuffs food boxes for Christmas;
and
WHEREAS,
a resident of Kennesaw, Georgia, Mrs. Bramblett earned a bachelor's degree from
Georgia State University and began her teaching career in 1989 at Birney
Elementary School and took six years off from teaching to care for her children;
and
WHEREAS,
it is appropriate that this body join in expressing appreciation to Mrs.
Bramblett for her outstanding efforts and accomplishments in professional
education.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that Mrs. Kelly
Bramblett is hereby recognized, commended, and congratulated upon her selection
as Cobb County Teacher of the Year, and gratitude is expressed for the great
credit this fine educator reflects upon Cobb County and the State of
Georgia.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Mrs. Kelly
Bramblett.
