RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Miss Jenna Brooke Saxon, 2011 Georgia Watermelon Queen; and for
other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Miss Jenna Brooke Saxon of Carlton, Georgia, was selected as the 2011 Georgia
Watermelon Queen by the Georgia Watermelon Association, and, in Miss Saxon, the
association found a deserving queen and a talented, beautiful, and accomplished
young woman; and
WHEREAS,
Miss Saxon, the daughter of Mike and Tina Saxon, is attending the University of
Georgia, where she is studying agricultural communications; and
WHEREAS,
as Georgia Watermelon Queen, Miss Saxon is the official spokesperson for the
Georgia Watermelon Association, and she will make many appearances across the
state in 2011 on behalf of Georgia's watermelon industry and as an ambassador
for the State of Georgia; and
WHEREAS,
Miss Saxon is a honor graduate, master 4-Her, member of the dean's list, and a
recipient of Washington's Youth Tour; and
WHEREAS,
her leadership has been invaluable as chapter FFA president and Beta Club
treasurer; and
WHEREAS,
with her poise, beauty, and intelligence, Miss Saxon is sure to be an exemplary
representative of agriculture and the watermelon industry in
Georgia.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize and commend Miss Jenna Brooke Saxon on her selection as the
2011 Georgia Watermelon Queen and for her many achievements and outstanding
representation of the State of Georgia and its agricultural
heritage.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Miss Jenna Brooke Saxon.
