RESOLUTION
Honoring
Ms. Earmie L. Ross on the event of her 91st birthday; and for other
purposes.
WHEREAS,
Ms. Earmie L. Ross was born in Camack, Georgia, on March 21, 1918, the second of
three children born to Forest and Bessie Hill; and
WHEREAS,
educated in the public schools of Camack, she left the fields and moved to
Augusta, where she earned a living waiting and setting tables in restaurants;
and
WHEREAS,
in 1946, she moved to New York, where she was a member of the Holy Unity Church
in Elm Hurst; and
WHEREAS,
she was married to Edmond Ross and raised one daughter, Evelyn, who married
Charley Howard, and in addition she has a step-daughter, nine grandchildren, ten
great-grandchildren, and a host of great-great-grandchildren; and
WHEREAS,
she is fond of reciting poetry, helping children, and shopping, and she is an
active member of Greenforest Community Baptist Church, where she participates in
the Harold Banks Deacon Family and the KeenAgers; and
WHEREAS,
it is only fitting and proper that the members of this body recognize and
commend Ms. Earmie L. Ross and wish her a very happy 91st birthday.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body wish Ms. Earmie L. Ross a very happy 91st birthday and many happy
returns.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Ms. Earmie L.
Ross.
