A RESOLUTION

Commending the East Depot High School Class of 1969; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the East Depot High School Class of 1969 will celebrate 40 years of growth and achievement by classmates, marked by a remarkable and inspiring commitment to friendship; and

WHEREAS, the accomplishments of the members of the East Depot High School Class of 1969 are many, varied, and worthy of great tribute; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Class of 1969 have enjoyed a unique bond of friendship which has flourished and sustained them throughout the years since their graduation; and

WHEREAS, for 40 years, they have remained close and united in purpose through shared activities, including monthly class meetings, numerous group trips, and annual picnics and Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners; and

WHEREAS, many class members were enthusiastic participants in the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority annual Martin Luther King Parade; and

WHEREAS, in service to their alma mater and to the youth of the city of LaGrange, the Class of 1969 established the East Depot Hope Scholar Tutorial Program; and

WHEREAS, the East Depot High School Class of 1969 epitomizes those qualities of excellence forever emphasized by East Depot High School, and their many accomplishments and contributions to their community are worthy of recognition.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of this body commend and congratulate the East Depot High School Class of 1969 on the occasion of their fortieth graduation anniversary reunion and for their outstanding achievements and great contributions to the welfare of this state and nation.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to the East Depot High School Class of 1969.
