A
RESOLUTION
Recognizing
and commending Fire Chief David Luther, outstanding public servant, on the
momentous occasion of his retirement; and for other purposes.
WHEREAS,
Chief David Luther faithfully served the Menlo Fire Department for 32 years and
was the fire chief for 27 of those years; and
WHEREAS,
following his retirement, he remains committed to serving his community and
continues work as the field coordinator for the Georgia Firefighters Pension
Fund; and
WHEREAS,
Chief Luther has faithfully worked to protect the citizens of Menlo and
Chattooga County from fire, harm, and loss of life, often at great personal risk
to himself, and his dedicated work in public safety covers an impressive career
of more than 32 years; and
WHEREAS,
he is an example of the positive effect firefighters have on the lives and
well-being of others as they reach out to selflessly serve and protect their
communities; and
WHEREAS,
it is altogether fitting and proper that the members of the House of
Representatives recognize and commend the proven courage, dedication, and
outstanding efforts of Chief David Luther.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that the members of
this body recognize and commend Fire Chief David Luther for his many years of
selfless, faithful service to the citizens of Chattooga County and the State of
Georgia and congratulate him upon his much deserved retirement.
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized
and directed to transmit an appropriate copy of this resolution to Chief David
Luther.
